Hippies in love

Hippies in love

The western pasqueflower (Anemone occidentalis), a common plant in the headwaters of the Oldman Watershed, grows in meadows and scree slopes at higher elevations.

It's the plant's fruiting clusters, more than its flowers, that, late in the summer, turn heads and give rise to the species' colloquial name: hippie on a stick.

The attached images show:
  1. two hippies on a flower walk; and
  2. hippies in love.
